GTA has always been defined by its music, and GTA 6 is shaping up to have one of the most stacked soundtracks in gaming history. T-Pain confirmed he’s working on GTA 6 during a live Twitch stream — and he’s not the only artist who’s let the news slip.
T-Pain’s Confirmation (and the GTA RP Ban)
During a Twitch stream, T-Pain revealed he’s “working on GTA 6” with Rockstar Games. But the more entertaining detail? As a result of his involvement, Rockstar asked T-Pain to stop playing on the GTA 5 NoPixel role-playing server.
Rockstar explained their reasoning with a music metaphor: “You know, what if somebody took your album and rerecorded it — and more people were listening to that.” T-Pain noted the irony when Rockstar later acquired the team behind FiveM and RedM — the very modding frameworks that enable GTA RP servers.
T-Pain hasn’t specified whether he’s contributing original music, voice acting, or both, but his involvement is confirmed.
Other Artists Who’ve Confirmed Their Involvement
ScHoolboy Q confirmed his music will appear in GTA 6 via Twitter, later teasing additional involvement after T-Pain’s revelation.
Panama posted on Instagram that their song “Back To Life” will be in GTA 6. Panama previously appeared on GTA 5’s soundtrack and is a fan-favorite pick for Vice City vibes.
Neon Indian‘s Alan Palomo was more cryptic on his podcast: “It ain’t the end of me and Rockstar Games. I won’t… that’s all I’m gonna say.” He was also on GTA 5’s soundtrack.
Rumors: Drake, DJ Khaled, and More
Music executive Jermaine Dupri claimed in an interview that Drake will have his own radio station in GTA 6, featuring unreleased music that players will hear before it drops anywhere else. This has NOT been confirmed by Rockstar or Drake.
DJ Khaled is rumored to host a station, which would fit perfectly with the Vice City / Miami setting. Also unconfirmed.
Multiple artists have reportedly accidentally leaked and then quickly deleted social media posts confirming their involvement — a classic GTA pre-launch pattern.
What Rockstar Has (and Hasn’t) Said
Rockstar has not officially confirmed any artists, songs, or radio stations. Every confirmation so far has come directly from the artists themselves. Given that GTA 6’s marketing campaign kicks off this summer, the official soundtrack reveal is likely months away.
With the game set in Vice City — a location defined by music culture — expectations are sky-high. If Rockstar delivers even a fraction of what the rumors suggest, this could be the most ambitious game soundtrack ever assembled.

What We Know About GTA 6’s Music Direction
Vice City’s musical identity was defined by its 1980s soundtrack in GTA Vice City. The modern-day setting of GTA 6’s Vice City opens the door to contemporary genres: hip-hop, Latin music, electronic, pop, and the Miami bass sound that defines South Florida culture. T-Pain’s confirmation suggests a mix of established artists and contemporary chart-toppers.
Rockstar has historically invested heavily in music licensing. GTA V featured over 400 licensed tracks across its radio stations. GTA 6 is expected to exceed that number, with radio stations covering genres from reggaeton and trap to classic rock and synthwave. The budget for music licensing alone is rumored to be in the tens of millions of dollars.
Why the Soundtrack Matters More Than You Think
Music in GTA has never been background noise. The radio stations define the atmosphere of every drive, every chase, every cruise through the city. The Vice City soundtrack from 2002 introduced an entire generation to 1980s music. GTA San Andreas popularized West Coast hip-hop for a global audience. GTA 6’s soundtrack will likely have a similar cultural impact, bringing Miami’s diverse music scene to millions of players who might never have encountered it otherwise. The combination of T-Pain, the Vice City setting, and Rockstar’s track record suggests a soundtrack that will be talked about for years.
