Looking Ahead
March is heavy on RPGs and monster-collecting games, making it an expensive month for genre fans. If you have to pick just one, Pokemon Pokopia and Crimson Desert are the two most anticipated new IPs of the bunch.
And for those thinking further ahead — GTA 6 is confirmed for November 19, 2026, so start saving now. Check out our complete GTA 6 hub for everything we know so far.
Week-by-Week Breakdown
Week 1 (March 1-7): The month kicks off with Marathon from Bungie, the most anticipated extraction shooter since Escape from Tarkov. Planet of Lana II also launches alongside EA Sports F1 25 and the quirky adventure game to a T from the Katamari Damacy creator.
Week 2 (March 8-14): The biggest week of the month by far. Cyberpunk 2077 hits Game Pass on March 10. Hollow Knight: Silksong finally releases on March 12 alongside Fatal Frame II Remake. This is the week that will define March 2026.
Week 3 (March 15-21): Call of Duty: Warzone Black Ops Royale enters the fray. Several mid-tier releases fill out the calendar for players looking for something different after the blockbuster second week.
Week 4 (March 22-31): The month winds down with indie releases and early access launches. A good time to catch up on everything you missed in the first three weeks.
What to Play First
If you can only play one game this month, make it Hollow Knight: Silksong. It has been the most anticipated indie game for over five years, and early impressions suggest it lives up to the hype. If you want action over exploration, Marathon offers a competitive extraction experience that is unlike anything else available right now.
